This Is Our Rasuwa

 


As one of the 16 Himalayan Districts of Nepal, this district is bordered by Nuwakot and Sindhupalchok to the east, Nuwakot and Dhading to the west, Tibet (Kerung Naka), an autonomous region of Allied China to the north, and the neighboring district Nuwakot (Falankhu Khola) to the south.

According to the Constitution of Nepal 2072, when the state was restructured, Rasuwa was divided into 1 constituency, 2 provincial assemblies, 5 rural municipalities and 27 wards. Naukunda, Gosaikund Rural Municipality 6/6 and Kalika, Uttar Gaya and Amachhodingmo Rural Municipality are divided into 5/5 wards. Under the regional structure, all wards of Naukunda and Gosaikund Rural Municipality and wards 4 and 5 of Kalika Rural Municipality fall under Provincial Assembly 'A', while all wards of Kalika Rural Municipality 1, 2, 3, Uttargaya Rural Municipality and Amachhodingmo Rural Municipality fall under Provincial Assembly 'B'. Amachodingmo Rural Municipality was renamed as Parvatikunda Rural Municipality during the state restructuring, and it was renamed as Amachodingmo in the local language by the elected village assembly of the first local level. In the local language, 'Parvati' is called 'Ama' and 'Kund' is called 'Chodingmo'.


There are many historical, cultural, touristic and biologically diverse places in this Rasuwa district under Bagmati province.


Langtang, which is the third tourist destination of Nepal, Gosaikund, a religious site listed in the World Ramsar list, Taltalaiya, various flora and fauna including endangered species, many hydropower projects in the form of built and under construction are located in this district.


This district, which has various heterogeneity in geographical forest cover, has been divided into 3 parts, mainly Himalayan, Lekali and hilly/beshi. In terms of geography, it has also been analyzed as south and north. Rasuwa district is located in latitude from 28 degrees zero minutes north latitude to 28 degrees 15 minutes north latitude and 85 degrees 15 minutes to 85 degrees 50 minutes east longitude.

Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Yalapik, Langsisa Khark, Sangjen Khark, etc. higher than 5,000 meters and mountain ranges with permanent snow, lakes and waterfalls belong to the Himalayan province, while the high mountain areas above 2500 above sea level where always in the winter season. Areas like Langtang, Canjing, Ghodatabela, Gosainkund, Laurivinayak, Chandanwari, Mangchet, Somdang, Ganjala Bhanjyang with equal snowfall are included in Lekali province. Similarly, areas below 2500 meters where there are human settlements and arable land are included in hilly or Benshi province.


The climate of this district, which is also characterized by heterogeneity, is very cold in the areas above the height of 1900 meters and some heat is found in the areas around 714 (Betravati) while in the middle areas it is neither too cold in winter nor too hot in summer.
